Bahraini co. organizes Swarovski fashion show in Kuwait

Cool-girl fashion spot V.O.D. debuts in Victory Park; 7 for All Mankind opens at NorthPark

The newest retail store at Victory Park opened this past weekend: V.O.D., owned by former Dallas Morning News fashion writer Jackie Bolin and her two partners, Elizabeth O’Mahony and Liz Thompson. The store’s understated space (save for a ’60s-era round settee, a seeming nod to its Valley of the Dolls name) features cool-girl looks with more hanger appeal than recognizable names.

Fashion Week is bringing style to Medina

Turning Medina into an area that fashionistas flock to may not be difficult with a number of shows on the agenda in the coming week. Fashion Week, being promoted as a triathalon of style, was set to begin Tuesday evening with a small show at the Garden View Bed & Breakfast in Medina but was canceled due to low ticket sales. That s not stopping organizers Angela Waldriff, owner of Ashlee s Place on East Center Street, and marketing manager Tiffany Lampe though.

A special wedding needed a special dress

SPRING HILL - Helen Tinley had everything in common with her husband, Harold. They loved history. She was creative; he was handy. She knew how to wear clothes, and he loved it. He remembers the blue houndstooth suit she wore at the military YMCA dance when they met. They had two kids. She stayed home until the boys were grown. Then she became a fashion coordinator in a Chicago store. Later she designed jewelry and painted pictures in her Spring Hill home that reflected her intrigue with history.

Group helps budding designers dress for success

Glitz and glamour, blood, sweat and tears: Is it possible to be talking about a single industry with such a mixture of sentiments? This is the fashion industry. Well, minus the blood. Fashion is a crazy and convoluted industry to try to navigate, so the student-run Fashion Industry Association seeks to promote the fashion industry within the USC community.
