‘Runway’ guru Gunn talks fashion before Scottsdale stop

A: The principles of silhouette, proportion and fit apply everywhere, no matter what the climate. I see plenty of women who live in warmer climates who dress with great polish and sophistication and flair. I don’t think that there are any limitations. It is a matter of different textiles: cottons, linens, things that are lighter, things that breathe. But I will say this: I am a great advocate for a small amount of engineered textiles — say, 4 percent. I’ll use Lycra as an example.

Along the lines some even drop their mainline careers to go into full time vocations. Governments increasingly view skills development as an important factor towards enhancing productivity, stimulate economic competitiveness and take people out of poverty. Majority of Ghanaian women and even men who are into fashion designing and dressmaking have become icons, boosting the image of such vocations hitherto looked down upon.

NatMags to launch fashion and beauty festival

Money raised from 30 Days of Fashion Beauty will be donated to the UK s leading breast cancer charities. Photographer Mary McCartney has also agreed to produce an exhibition of photographs, to celebrate what fashion and beauty means to the British consumer. A selection of the photographs will be auctioned for charity at a party during London Fashion Week. The exhibition will then be open to the public at a London gallery.
