There’s only one reason these dogs attack - their owners. Responsible dog ownership is easy for those of us that love having a family pet. I am the proud owner of a Staffie Bull Terrier (as shown in the photo) and he’s the most loveable dog I’ve ever owned. The Kennel Club recommends only two breeds to have with children and these are one. I would trust him with my life. Let’s have more legislation to stop young irresponsible owners having these dogs as status symbols.

Professor Sheila Greene, Director of the Children’s Research Centre in Trinity College, Dublin, was speaking about the growing array of ’sexy’ children’s clothing currently being stocked in shops throughout the country. Professor Greene said parents who allow their children to dress in skimpy clothing could lead them to develop poor self confidence, eating disorders, depression and an excessive preoccupation with their appearance.

WASHINGTON - More than 96,000 articles of children’s clothing are being recalled due to entrapment and strangulation hazards caused by the drawstring. TKS-brand children’s pants, Basic Editions-brand girls’ clothing sets, Personal Identity-brand V-neck sweaters with hood and Scope Apparel boys’ hooded sweatshirts are being recalled. The TKS-brand children’s pants have a ribbon belt at the waist, which are longer than the maximum length set forth in Consumer Product Safety Commission guidelines.

A recall was also announced by EU this year on grounds of inferior quality of materials, bands, zips and buttons. With regard to such frequent call back of Chinese goods from American market, the Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of Hangzhou has urged local manufacturers to carefully check the children clothing goods before exporting.

Ms. Coughlin, who lives on Kent Road, said the store, Krik-it at 5 River Road, had been something she and Ms. Thompson had wanted to do for some time, and since last summer they ve just been looking for the right opportunity to open it.
