Capri Dolce brings fashion to Taylor Street

Media Credit: Ryan Calacsan Capri Dulce is more than your average boutique: the store hosts fashion shows, provides internships for students interested in fashion, and more. One word comes to mind when thinking of Taylor Street: food. All types of eateries are located on Taylor from Asian to Italian cuisine and more. Yet there exists a fairly new clothing boutique in the Little Italy neighborhood, Capri Dolce, which brings fashion into the mix.

Rihanna leads the style pack as Paris Fashion Week draws to a close

3 MARCH 2008 Rihanna’s recent trip to France has been a busy one. As well as performing a one-off set at the exclusive Swarovski party, the singing sensation was a fixture at the week’s fashion shows - and certainly wasn’t missing out on any of the weekend runway action. On Saturday she was on hand to check out John Galliano’s vision for this autumn/winter. Joining the Umbrella star in the front row was Mary-Kate Olsen.

Windows on spring Fashion comes alive for season with bold colors and designs

Spring fashion isn’t going to disappoint, either. “I think women are so sick of winter,” said Karen Marquis , owner of Kokopelli in Northpark Mall. “We’ve had a lot of people in buying for vacations and weddings, and I think they’re ready for spring.” Spring clothes come alive in vivid colors such as Kelly green, yellow, tangerine and cobalt blue, fuchsia and bold prints that swing from floral to global and geometric to art-inspired.

Kanye West Clarifies Fashion Show Comment

Kanye West has clarified a comment he made about not gaining entrance to a Paris fashion show for designer Nicholas Ghesquirere’s ‘Balenciaga’ range , saying that anyone saying something negative has it wrong . The Grammy Award- winning rapper was quoted by the New York Times as saying, We didn’t get a ticket for Balenciaga. I understand it. I get a lot of attention and, you know, sometimes the designers don’t want anything taking the focus off the show.

Fashion for small fries

By Samantha Thompson Smith , Staff Writer Calling all budding fashion designers. You might want to head over the new Marbles Kids Museum, which is opening the new IdeaWorks gallery on Saturday. One element of IdeaWorks is Studio Style, a space where kids can cut their own patterns, pick the cloth and fit the garment on a mannequin. They can make bags, hats and skirts. And there’s even a small stage where kids can show off their fashions once they’re complete.

Melbourne showcases winter fashion

From the Paris to the Target end of town, fashion trends for winter will be showcased at the Melbourne Fashion Festival this week. Seven Paris runway shows will feature some of Australia’s leading designers, including Toni Maticevski, Jayson Brunsdon and sass and bide. Target will launch its new international designer collection on the festival’s final day.
