H&M Launches “Fashion Against AIDS”

The collection comprises T-shirts, tank tops and hooded sweaters. All garments feature a print and the neckline label carries the name of the print designer. Some of the prints are low-key and subtle, and whisper that this is important. Others raise their voice. Katharine Hamnett’s print in big, black, block lettering on a white background shouts “USE A CONDOM!”, while Tiga’s check all-over print calls for quiet reflection.

Sneak Peek 2008 Lauren Sherman On Fashion And Style ,

Designers will continue to take queues from the early ’90s. We’ve already seen this with the return of plaid and empire waist dresses. Look for more plaid maxi-skirts, as well as the return of flimsy, floral dresses. These looks won’t be as severe as grunge–remember, we’re still in a structured phase–but they will draw from that era for inspiration. See the Balenciaga and Marc Jacobs Spring 2008 collections for examples.

Landmark ruling for fashion

Karen Millen, one of Britain’s most exclusive clothing names, celebrated its landmark victory by pledging to make a substantial donation to the Marie Keating Foundation. Fashion doesn’t exist in a vacuum– until now Industrial design meets the catwalk Robert Collison,

Fashion and style

Do you always match your head wrap to what you are wearing? Not always. I’ve got more into them recently. They can give an outfit - particularly if it is a suit - a slightly different spin, which I like. Describe your style. I would aspire to a funky elegance with a classic twist. Has your style changed much over the years? I’m not sure because I don’t think of myself as having one particular style. I’m 56 now and I’ve always been quite eclectic.

Fashion brand Uniqlo is about to take the British high street by storm

In Japan, Uniqlo is a household name: its 750 stores making it the number-one fashion retailer in terms of both sales and profits. But it’s never really done fashion with a capital F. “For years it’s been where people go to buy cheap socks,” is how Shoko Rudquist, a journalist who’s lived in both Tokyo and London, puts it. “There’s one on every corner.” Now with its eyes on the rest of the world, Uniqlo has raised the bar.
