Reported by: Becky Freemal A local women’s clothing store found itself in the middle of a crash investigation after an Amberly Village officer slammed his squad car into the store’s display window. Amberley Village Chief Monahan said officer, James Drake, broke his left arm and is expected to be fine. Plum Diore, the women’s clothing store at the corner of Ridge and Montgomery road in Pleasant Ridge will have a boarded up window for about a week until a new frame and glass is ordered.

The Court of Appeal in Western Sweden, overruling an earlier lower court decision, ordered Goteborg to pay each woman 20,000 kronor and legal costs for discriminating against them. The women dressed in headscarves, sweatpants and long-sleeved T-shirts accompanied their children to the public pool on two separate occasions in April 2004 but were asked to leave after refusing to change their clothes.

Christopher Wynn Billy Reid’s warehouse sale near Deep Ellum has become a thing . What began in 2006 as a discreet, word-of-mouth clearance event at the designer’s corporate headquarters is now a semiannual shopping frenzy. Last year, even horrendous surrounding road construction couldn’t keep away the bargain hunters (including us). We found a pair of $400 men’s leather boots for $86 and scored a stack of Italian-made shirts (normally pushing $200 each) for $30 to $40 apiece.
