FASHION 911 FASHION 911 Fashion designers jump into Art Basel hubbub

We’re in the thick of Art Basel, and rubbing elbows with the painters, sculptors and architects are fashion types big and small. Conventional wisdom says that international millionaires in a good mood will want to hang something new on their bodies as much as on their walls. So while one spouse is shopping art installations like giant udders, the other can see what skirts designer Matthew Williamson has in store for Pucci, come spring.

The velvet rope police are everywhere, enforcing invitation-only clauses with a vengeance. But for every exclusive cocktail party, there are events where the more, the merrier. Williamson and Laudomia Pucci, daughter of Emilio, will host a brunch this week at the sumptuous Miami Beach home of Norma Quintero, but everyone else can catch Williamson at Neiman Marcus/Merrick Park, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Kimora Lee Simmons will privately promote her new upscale clothing line, KLS Collection, at Scoop boutique at the Shore Club Hotel. But she’s also heading to Macy’s/Aventura Mall on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., and to Macy’s/Pembroke Mall an hour later. The diva’s estranged husband, Russell Simmons, is also in town, hosting a private party at Intermix boutique to benefit his arts education foundation. No invite, no entr e.

On the bright side: Paris Hilton will sign photos for buyers of her new fragrance, Can Can, at Macy’s/Dadeland Mall, 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Poshvintage, a Miami-based Internet business, is partnering with New York boutique Geminola, for a trunk show at the Shore Club hotel. Come one, come all: Wednesday-Sunday. Ask the front desk for the suite number.
