Fashion Valley Mall Robbery
A robber who took some jewelry from a store in the Fashion Valley Mall was in custody Wednesday, police said. The robbery at Na Huku occurred about 6:35 Tuesday night, and the suspect was arrested shortly afterward, said San Diego police Sgt. Bob Dare. The suspect, whose name police withheld, came into the store twice and asked questions about jewelry, then returned a third time with a mask over his face and acting as if he had a gun in his jacket, Dare said.
The robber demanded some jewelry on display, got it and fled, he said. A witness who saw the robber run out of the store with the clerk chasing him called police, and officer soon caught the suspect and recovered the jewelry, Dare said.
