Clothing center needs donations for area children

Christ Child Society of Akron, P.O. Box 5855, Akron, OH 44372, provides hundreds of children with new clothes each year through its Children’s Clothing Center in West Akron. Market St., Akron, OH 44333, gives compassionate support and education to local families and individuals touched by cancer through free programs and services. It needs volunteers throughout the year and especially during the holiday season to staff the reception desk and give tours to new participants. Park Little Shepherd Preschool, 2308 24th St. S.W., Akron, OH 44314, makes preschool available to children in the Kenmore area at no or low cost. It also provides families with support and encouragement in a Christian environment, including offering monthly workshops on topics such as financial management, child development and discipline. The school is seeking monetary donations to keep its program going. Donations will be used for supplies, snacks and other basic necessities.

Good Neighbors Inc., 1453 Goodyear Blvd., Akron, OH 44305, is a nonprofit organization that helps needy people with an emergency food supply, clothing, coats and small household items. The organization needs donations of money, toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, children’s and adult’s diapers and food, including peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal, soup and macaroni and cheese.
