Women sought in connection with ID theft investigation
Police say two female suspects obtained the credit card number of a female victim from the Cincinnati area. They used the credit card number to make over $1,000 in purchases from Macy’s in Mentor on February 23. Police say over the course of 2 days, they opened new credit card accounts in the name of the victim at Sears, Levin Furniture and Walmart, charging over $10,000 against the victim’s name. Illegal transactions are known to have also occurred in the Akron/Canton area.
The suspects are described as two white females, late 20s to early 30s. Surveillance video shows them purchasing a large amount of children’s clothing from Macy’s. They were seen driving a late model silver Chevy Tahoe. The Mentor Police Department is requesting assistance in identifying these two females.
