Working Women’s Survival Show has something for you

– Women today know about kicking back and finding time for themselves, so they lace up their walking shoes and spend the day at the annual Working Women’s Survival Show. The popular show, held at the St. Charles (Mo.) Convention Center, runs Friday through Sunday, with shopping, exhibits, workshops, entertainment and demonstrations of everything from cooking and looking great for photos to installing a bathroom sink and the best way to clean out your clothes closet.

You’ll go home with a shopping bag full of free product samples, enjoy a little wine tasting, rest your dogs as a young Missouri actor talks about his rise in Hollywood and maybe decide that plastic surgery is right for you! For a complete list of events, workshops go to www.wwssonline.com .

Here is a sampling of what you’ll find: Lucky town main stage Missouri native son and actor Jay Kenneth Johnson, who plays Philip Kiriakis on “Days of Our Lives,” will talk about everything from soaps to his appearances on “Scrubs,” “CSI” and “Charmed” to the big screen in “Hack.” He will sign autographs as time permits. 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Friday Chef Judie Byrd, host of cable TV’s “Judie Byrd’s Kitchen,” will prepare quick and easy hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Noon Friday; 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Saturday. Salon de Christe Day Spa will entertain and educate with hair-color and styling makeovers, including before and after looks. Plus a cut, style and makeup on an audience member. 2:30 p.m. Friday; 1 and 5 p.m. Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday. Rod Barbour of Glamour Shots will show you how to get ready for photos — from business shots to formal family portraits. An audience member will be selected to have a makeover on stage. 4 and 6:30 p.m. Friday; 6 p.m. Saturday; 4 p.m. Sunday.
