Kenzie’s Closet to hold fundraiser garage sale

Need a beautiful cocktail-length dress with shoes and purse to match, but don’t have much money to spend? How about a fur coat or vintage clothing in mint condition? Maybe you’re in the market for a wedding dress? All these and more will be for sale at the Kenzie’s Closet boutique, 2010 Madison Road in O’Bryonville, when the organization holds its first-ever Garage Sale. The special two-day sale will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 3 and Oct. 9.

Items will be $5 to $100, with all sales on a cash-only basis (all sales final). “This is really beautiful clothing, cleaned and ready to be worn, that people have donated to Kenzie’s Closet, but we are unable to give away through our program because it just isn’t prom attire appropriate for a teenager,” said Brynne Coletti, executive director.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase prom dresses, shoes and accessories for the Kenzie’s Closet program, which each year gives away prom attire to economically disadvantaged young women throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. In 2006, Kenzie’s Closet helped make happy prom memories for nearly 300 deserving girls. “Our program is made possible through the generous donations of individuals and businesses throughout Cincinnati,” said Coletti.

“We accept gently worn prom dresses and accessories as well as cash donations. The money we receive is primarily used to purchase dresses and shoes in sizes that are normally donated, as well as jewelry, shawls and other accessories that help complete each girl’s unique prom outfit.” Visit www.kenziescloset.org for more information. All donations are tax-deductible.
