The supermodel who can have women around the world running to vintage clothing stores and High Street tops to recreate her unique style, has been named the most influential person in the industry by The Guardian newspaper.
The poll named the 1,000 most influential people living in Britain and was broken up into 22 different categories - one of those being fashion. Sienna Miller, and her sister Savannah, also made the list as “up and comers”. The siblings have recently launched their own fashion label Twenty8Twelve and are planning to open their own flagship store. Miller, an actress, is frequently compared to Moss for her quirky fashion sense and is tipped to be her successor.
Sir Philip Green, the man behind High Street giant TopShop is also mentioned on the list. Another High Street heavyweight, Stuart Rose of Marks and Spenser, also made the list. The woman behind Moss’s career, Sarah Doukas, has her own spot as an influential fashionista. Doukas’ is the founder of Storm Models and discovered Moss when she was a teenager. Newcomer Christopher Kane is on the list, already weaving his magic. Iconic designer Vivienne Westwood also appears.
The poll’s editor to Vogue, Simon Davis, said, “London is the world’s most influential city from retail to health to art, property and theater. It is the people who make the decisions and have the energy, creativity and power to see them through that make this city so influential.
